Desert Blend is an all-natural blend of sea salt, Sucanat (dehydrated sugar cane), and three chiles: Ancho, Mulato and Pasilla peppers. Ancho chiles are dried poblano peppers, and very commonly used in Mexican cuisine. Mulato peppers are very popular and while it resembles the Ancho, it's darker and slightly sweeter. It's fairly mild and has an earthy flavor. Pasilla peppers are the dried version of the Chilaca chile. It's long, black and wrinkled, and is a standard ingredient in mole sauces. Although these are chile peppers, this flavorful trio doesn't pack much heat. It is a southwest seasoning salt or grill rub which transforms ordinary foods into mouth-watering culinary creations. Use it on everything from chicken, beef, pork and seafood to vegetables and salads. Also great in dips, stews, eggs, hash browns or corn on the cob. Contains no MSG, preservatives, artificial colors. Work into meat before grilling. Enhance the flavor of dips, eggs, hash browns, or corn on the cob.

Santa Fe Seasons is a source for premium specialty food products made in New Mexico. Their products combine the influence of Spanish, Mexican and Native American cuisine, resulting in a truly New Mexican experience with a modern twist of ingredients that are growing in popularity.
When Anna and Greg Shawver moved from New Mexico to the Pacific Northwest in the mid 1980s they were left with a deep longing for everything they had taken for granted in their home state. Missing the music, dance, fiestas, food and family gatherings and their favorite New Mexican foods that were obviously not available in the Pacific Northwest. Unless they packed the indigenous chiles to New Mexico themselves and took them after a visit or had them shipped after the fall harvest, they had to do without.
After returning to New Mexico in 1996, the entrepreneurial spirit emerged and they longed to do something that brought together all the things that were a part of who they were: culture, food, music, traditional recipes and la cocina (the kitchen where my family has gathered for many years). The business and its products began to come together as I found out that I descended from a lineage of entrepreneurs and simple townspeople who understood hospitality and good food. The products and recipes were born of a multicultural energy and spirit that took root in New Mexico in the early 1500’s. Some are derived from traditional recipes to which they have added more inventive fare. Thet are committed to creating the finest, award- winning gourmet food products. In order to ensure the high quality and consistency of all of the Santa Fe seasons products, they are still made in small batches.
Santa Fe Season's products have found a place at the tables of many fine resorts and restaurants, gourmet, gift, gallery and grocers throughout the US and in Germany. They have combined equal parts imagination and history with some unique highquality ingredients to create an incredible, edible culinary experience. Anna and Greg believe the soul of cooking is about enjoying life and celebrating with friends and family. From their family to yours, Bien venidos y esperamos que usted nos visitará otra vez.
