Lavender Tea Bread
Ingredients:
3/4 Cup milk
2 tsp. Frolicking Deer Culinary Lavender, chopped
6 Tbsp. butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
For the glaze:
1/3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees, grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan
Combine milk and lavender in a saucepan, bring to a simmer and remove from heat, allow to cool
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs and beat until mixture is light and fluffy
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and lavender until just blended
Pour into prepared pan and bake 45-50 minutes
To make the glaze, combine powdered sugar with remaining ingredients, whisk to combine
Pour oven the hot cake and cool on a wire rack 20 minutes
Remove from pan and cool an additional 20 minutes before serving
